San Augustine Elementary School Home

Welcome to Wolf Nation Texas Logo

It is with extreme excitement and pride that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of San Augustine Elementary! I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such tenacious, persevering students, an extremely committed staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to have been selected as the instructional leader of this campus.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for nearly two decades. I have worked with students ranging in ages from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a paraprofessional, teacher, and assistant principal. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader in this capacity as we partner together in ensuring your child’s success.
On a personal note, my husband and I have lived in Pineland for over 20 years. I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, my Masters of Elementary Education, and my Masters of Educational Leadership all from Stephen F. Austin State University. My son Desmond graduated from Northwestern State University and my daughter Tatyana graduated from East Texas Baptist University. We also have another daughter who is our love child. Christina was born with cerebral palsy, yet she is a beautiful spirit and the eldest of our three. We were blessed with our very first grandchild in 2019, Dayson Jace Lacey!
We are proud to be a part of the San Augustine Independent School District family, one that values high standards and expectations by providing rich learning experiences for all students.
I view education as a life-long process and know that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of San Augustine Elementary this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my eagerness to learn, and my student-centered approach to support the education of our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to an outstanding 2021-2022 school year and I cannot wait to meet you soon!
Proud Principal,
Mrs. Christa Lacey
